< 5. Important Notes >

- This driver does not support [Test Print].

- This driver does not support output any bitmap (raster) data. It is impossible to output texts or border lines etc. from such applications that output bitmap data, for example word processing softwares.
We recommend to use drawing softwares.

- Specify the line width for cutting lines as follows.
It may not be possible to cut lines of the specified width.

* Program Settings
Adobe Illustrator CS	-- 0.1 pt
Adobe Illustrator 10	-- 0.001 pt (Displayed line width is 0 pt.)
Adobe Illustrator 9.0/9.0.2	-- 0.001 pt (Displayed line width is 0 pt.)
  Adobe Illustrator 8.0/8.0.1	-- 0.01 pt
  Adobe Illustrator 7.0/7.0.1	-- 0 pt
  CorelDRAW 10/9/8/7	-- 0.001 mm *Program Settings

- Shading information inside shapes is not output to the CAMM-1.
This driver does not support shading for shapes. Shading information is interpreted as bitmap data and ignored.

- Some objects with Fill shapes are cut twice.
Going to the [Options] tab and clearing the selection for [Cut Polygons] can avoid double cutting in some cases.
Set lines you want to cut once to no Fill (note that white is not no Fill) and make the setting for only Contour Line.

- When you will output TrueType or OpenType fonts, you should generate 'outlines' of texts to convert them into vector data. Please refer to the manual of your application software for this function. If your software does not have the function to generate outline, it is impossible to output TrueType or OpenType fonts.

- Be sure to disable Rotate function(select RO-0) in your CAMM-1 machine.

- When you are outputting cutting data from CutStudio, select the [High Resolution] option.
Use the following method to make the setting for the [High Resolution] option.

1. Quit all running programs.
2. In Windows, click [Start].
Open [Printers] or [Printer and Other Hardware] folder.
3. Click the Roland CAMM-1 icon to choose it.
4. From the [File] menu, click [Printing Preferences].
5. For [Options] tab, select [High Resolution] to activate the setting.

- Be sure to set driver's paper size before cutting with an accessory sheet.

##### Important Notes When Performing Output from Adobe Illustrator #####

- Important!: The name of the applicable version of Illustrator appears at the beginning of each section. Check which version of Illustrator you're using and read the corresponding important notes below. The "Important Notes on [Output from Adobe Illustrator 8/9/10 (All Three Versions)" are also very important, so be sure to read them as well.

- Illustrator 10: When using the Envelope tool, it may not be possible to cut an object using the same feature.
This is because the line information for the path is canceled when the same feature is used. You can enable output by performing either of the two operations described below.
 1. From the [Object] menu, choose [Envelope Distort], then [Edit Contents], and set the line type of the original shape again.
 2. Follow the same procedure as described above, but instead of choosing [Edit Contents], choose [Expand].

- Illustrator 10: Objects drawn using the [Rectangular Grid Tool] or [Polar Grid Tool] are cut twice on the same line. This is because when this feature is used, the top and bottom lines are overlaid. It can be avoided by deleting the top line.
* To delete an overlaid line in Illustrator 10, follow the steps below.
 1. Select the corresponding object, and from the [Object] menu, select [Expand Appearance].
 2. Release the selection, then use the direct-selection tool to individually select and delete the objects on the line that you want to delete. (Make sure the same line exists underneath the deleted line. If there is more than one location, repeat this procedure as often as is needed.)

- Illustrator 10: When you perform printing and cutting for objects drawn using any of the following features, output results like those shown below are obtained. Such results are not suitable for cutting.

Symbol Sprayer tool (Even individual overlapping symbols are cut.)
Symbol Shifter tool (Even individual overlapping symbols are cut.)
Symbol Scruncher tool (Even individual overlapping symbols are cut.)
Symbol Sizer tool (Even individual overlapping symbols are cut.)
Symbol Spinner tool (Even individual overlapping symbols are cut.)
Symbol Stainer tool (Even individual overlapping symbols are cut.)
Symbol Screener tool (Cutting is not performed, because of the transparency feature.)
Flare feature (Paths are not cut correctly because of the transparency function.)

- Illustrator 9/10: Cutting cannot be performed when effects such as transparency, blur, or drop shadows are used.

##### Important Notes When Performing Output from Adobe Illustrator 8/9/10 (All Three Versions) #####

- In the [Print] dialog box, clear the selection for [Bitmap Printing]. When this is on, cutting cannot be performed.
To display the [Print] dialog box, run the [File] - [Print] command.

- When the number of anchor points exceeds 256, the path cannot be cut. In such cases, separate the path to reduce the number of anchor points.
When there are compound paths, the total number of included anchor points must not exceed 256.

- When the cutting range set with the driver is wider than the artboard, normal cutting may not be possible.
In such cases, either make the artboard narrower or make the driver's cutting range wider. However, do not specify a length exceeding 11,560 mm for the cutting-range [Length] setting.

- Make sure that the artwork and laid-out graphics do not extend beyond the art board. If such extension occurs, cutting may not be correct.

- Cutting may be performed twice at the same location for narrow-width rectangles (multi-sided shapes) and ellipses.
When the outline of a bitmap image is traced, a path like this may be created.

- In the driver's [Options] tab, make sure the [High Resolution] option is off. When this is on, cutting of lengths of 409 mm or longer is impossible.

##### Important Notes When Performing Output from CorelDRAW 10/9/8 #####

- Set a line width of 0.001 mm for the cutting line.
Cutting may not be performed if the line width is something other than 0.001 mm.

- At the [Page Layout Setup] screen, [Set Up from Printer] is updated with driver-specified cutting-range lengths of up to 3,276 mm.

- In the driver's [Options] tab, make sure the [High Resolution] option is off. When this is on, cutting of lengths of 409 mm or longer is impossible.
